Teriyaki Sauce

This sauce is such a great go-to for any protein or ingredient combination!  It is perfect with salmon, chicken, or meatballs.  Asparagus, broccoli, or fresh green beans are also excellent with this sauce.

Just mix all ingredients in a bowl, then simmer in a saucepan until it thickens, stirring constantly.

1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup water
1 t ginger, or 1 button fresh ginger root, peeled and grated
1 small lemon, juiced
2 T brown sugar
1 T cornstarch

Try adding garlic or sesame oil to vary the flavor.  Sesame seeds add a tasty garnish.
